Greyhound stewards’ inquiry – Adele Hobby and Carrigan Wilson-Collis
RWWA stewards have today concluded an inquiry into the conduct of Ms Adele Hobby and Ms Carrigan Wilson-Collis at Greyhounds WA Mandurah on Friday, 13 January 2023.
Evidence was heard from licenced attendant Ms A Hobby, licenced owner Ms C Wilson-Collis and Senior Steward Mr C Kerr.
Attendant Ms Hobby pleaded guilty to a charge under GAR156(f)(ii)
The specifics of the charge are that on 13 January 2023 at Greyhounds WA Mandurah, Ms Hobby, being a registered person with RWWA, shoved a trophy into Ms Wilson-Collis’s chest in the public bar area which, in the opinion of the stewards, is improper.
Stewards have now completed their deliberations and have determined to impose a suspension of three months, commencing Monday, 6 February 2023.
In consideration of penalty, stewards were mindful of the following factors:
- Ms Hobby pleaded guilty to the charge and cooperated during the inquiry
- Ms Hobby’s remorse and personal circumstances
- The strong need for both individual and general deterrence
- The seriousness of the offence
Owner Ms Wilson-Collis pleaded guilty to a charge under GAR156(f)(ii)
The specifics of the charge are that on 13 January 2023 at Greyhounds WA Mandurah, Ms Wilson-Collis, being a registered person with RWWA, punched Ms Hobby in the face in the public bar area which, in the opinion of the stewards, constitutes misconduct.
Stewards have now completed their deliberations and have determined to impose a disqualification of six months, starting Monday, 6 February 2023.
In consideration of penalty, stewards were mindful of the following factors:
- Ms Wilson-Collis pleaded guilty to the charge and cooperated during the inquiry
- Ms Wilson-Collis’s personal circumstances and the impact of a disqualification
- Ms Wilson-Collis’s remorse of the incident
- The strong need for both individual and general deterrence
- The seriousness of the offence
